MetService is forecasting mostly settled weather across Canterbury through the weekend, with daytime highs in Christchurch expected to reach the low to mid twenties under light north-easterly winds.
Inland areas including Darfield, Methven and Geraldine are forecast to be slightly warmer, while coastal cloud may keep Banks Peninsula a touch cooler in the morning. Overnight lows are expected to remain mild.
A weak front is expected to brush the region late on Sunday, bringing the chance of light showers across the high country and a brief southerly change. Conditions should ease again by Monday morning.
Sun protection is recommended given the high UV index typical for this time of year. The full Christchurch and Canterbury forecast is updated several times daily on the MetService website.
