Christchurch's live music calendar continues to firm up for summer, with confirmed acts spanning Wolfbrook Arena, the Town Hall, Christchurch Arena and a range of smaller venues across the central city.

Outdoor concerts at Hagley Park remain the largest format, with major touring acts typically using the venue between November and March. Smaller venues including the Darkroom, Space Academy and Blue Smoke continue to anchor the local original scene.

Free and low-cost programming is also worth tracking. The Sunday Sounds programme in the Botanic Gardens and free summer sessions at the New Regent Street precinct have both built loyal followings in recent years.

Tickets for the largest shows are best bought through official outlets such as Ticketmaster and Ticketek to avoid resale price gouging closer to event dates.
