Festival season is back across Canterbury, with several headline events confirmed for the next few months. Organisers say early ticket sales and weekend turnout at smaller events have both been encouraging.

The World Buskers Festival returns to the central city in January, joining Electric Avenue at Hagley Park, Christmas in the Park, and a range of community-led events including A&P shows across the wider region.

Smaller festivals and one-day events — Lyttelton Festival of Lights, the Lincoln A&P Show and several wine and food events through North Canterbury — continue to anchor the regional calendar between the larger weekends.

Up-to-date festival listings are maintained by ChristchurchNZ and Eventfinda. Volunteer roles are typically advertised four to six weeks before each event.
