Industry meetups, breakfast events and after-work networking have all picked up steadily across Christchurch through 2025, with several long-running programmes reporting their strongest attendance numbers in years.

The Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Awesome and ChristchurchNZ all run regular events, with sector-specific groups in tech, construction and professional services holding their own meetups.

Smaller, peer-led groups have also grown in visibility — including women-in-business breakfasts, founder roundtables and industry-specific gatherings hosted out of co-working spaces such as BizDojo and Te Ōhaka.

Professionals new to the city said events with a clear theme or speaker tend to be easier entry points than open mixers. Most events are listed through Eventbrite or directly through host organisations.
